SMARTLIPO MPX Equipment features:
• 20 W at 1,064 nm 150 microsecond pulse width It selects the wavelength at 1,064 nm due to its proven efficiency in the coagulation of blood vessels and in the destruction of adipocytes. The effectiveness of 1,064 nm for the destruction of adipocytes does not depend so much on the specificity of this type of laser by the fat, the true ultra-short nature of the pulses generates an explosive non-linear power output that produces photomechanical ablation causing tissue destruction and minimal coagulation compared to continuous laser emissions. The interaction of the other wavelength at 1,320 nm is based on its more intense fat absorption and minimal scattering in the fat tissue, which permits most of the power deposited in localised regions near the tip of the optical fibre in the subcutaneous tissue, resulting in effective lipolysis. It also induces the transformation of haemoglobin into methaemoglobin and facilitates the efficiency of 1,064 nm output coagulation. SmartSense provides safety given that this movement detector prevents the laser output from proceeding if the handpiece is not moving and avoids the risk of burning from being stationary on the tissues. The suggested dosimetry for laser lipolysis treatment with this unit is as follows: • For abdomen, back, sides, external thigh and arm regions: Deep Plane Surface Plane • For inside thigh and knees: Deep Plane Surface Plane • For neck: Deep Plane SMARTLIPO TM Equipment features:
• 6 or 10 W at 1,064 The power at which Smartlipo TM functions is of less intensity, basing its effectiveness and treatment protocol on various sessions spaced in time with mild output in each one, achieving less volumetric reduction and requiring several sessions. The lower power of the device does not necessarily pose a problem, since it safely prevents tissue carbonisation impeding correct transmission of heat from the optical fibre.
